1.      What are your strongest qualifications for this position?

Brooks (D) Donnan (D)

Commissioner for 16 years. Major in economics. Spokesperson for the states before Congress in behalf of stronger labor laws. Has reviewed over 40,000 workers' compensation claims as staff attorney at the Industrial Commission. Supports liveable wages and benefits for all workers, expanded high skill training opportunities and expanded enforcement of OSHA workplace safety standards.

Recent relevant experience: Senior Leadership, 7 yrs., at NC Dept. of Labor; Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation- statewide economic development grant-work. Recognized Leadership- Rotary- Paul Harris Scholar; Friday Fellow. Strong community values rooted in Appalachia. Endorsed by Commissioner Harry Payne, NCAE, NC AFL-CIO, NC Academy of Trial Lawyers, Charlotte Observer.
